April Umba Box

This is my farewell Umba Box.  It’s been extremely enjoyable to receive these handmade surprises every month, but alas, all good things…right?  It seems appropriate that my final package is a bon voyage theme, as an upcoming trip is precisely the reason that I’m saving all my pennies and not renewing right now.  These are some of the new goodies I’ll be packing along on my adventure this summer:

Tangerine shampoo bar by Scum Soaps.  (Best name ever for a soap company, by the way.)  Fresh Fig skin stick by Rinse Soap Co.   Blueberry  granola by SoSoft 7 Nola.  Linen luggage tag from Lovell Designs.  (The reverse side has a clear slot for your info.)  Adorable postcards from Sarah Doriani and Maple & Belmont. 

My experience with Umba Box has been a great one.  The selected items were always of the highest quality, and it felt good to support small, handmade businesses.  I look forward to signing up again in the fall.

Hello Friday; You’ve come by so quickly that I can’t believe it’s time for the weekend already.  Hello February Umba Box with the  cutest little wood and fawn necklace from Figs and Ginger.  Hello falling in love with the fun and endearing Girlfriend.  Hello traveling to Shreveport, Louisiana for my family’s traditional Mardi Gras celebration with dearest friends.  Hello getting more and more comfortable with this television gig.

January Umba Box

January’s Umba Box might be my favorite  so far.  I wish I could adequately explain to you how much I love this crazy-darling Letterpress Coaster Calendar from Sugarcube Press.  A whole year of adorable images on coasters, plus monthly calendars on the back (or is it vice versa?).  Also comes with a sweet desk stand.  Whoa.  And the package this month included a delicious warm pear cobbler all natural lip balm from Live Beautifully.   I’m a self-proclaimed lip balm junkie, so this month’s box was just a whole lotta’ love.

December Umba Box

I received my second Umba Box this month, and I was definitely not disappointed.

I am *In Love* with the print on this instagram photo album made by Rag and Bone Bindery.    I almost gave it away as a Christmas gift to a friend, but then selfishly had second thoughts and kept it for myself instead. 

Also included this month was a Belgian Hot Chocolate Pop from Bella Rose Chocolates, and adorable gift tags from Very Merry Studio.  I used the tags, but kept the chocolate for myself.  So much for Christmas spirit and all that, jeeze.

November Umba Box

I made the decision to cancel my Birchbox, halt my Julep subscription, and purchased a 3-month Umba Box instead.  Umba Box is a monthly subscription service that delivers a package of 2-3 handmade items each month.  I obviously love the idea of supporting handmade artists, and I can’t think of a more fun surprise to get in the mail every month.  (Lottery pay-outs aside.)

The contents of this month’s box was a handmade journal from To Boldly Fold, fancy clothespins from Earth Cookie Creations, and crazy delicious caramels from The Caramel Jar.  I absolutely love each item!
