Currently Obsessing Over
We’ve been super busy with making some exciting new plans for the D.I.Y. Louisville group and time has been a little scarce for crafting, but that doesn’t mean we don’t make a few minutes here and there with our morning coffee for catching up on awesome stuff in the blogosphere and online shopping arena. I’ve actually been feeling pretty inspired by the old internet these days. Maybe it’s because I literally have no time to go anywhere but the grocery and Paypal is a little too convenient. Anyway, these are a few of things we have been finding inspiring and pretty right now.
First up is The Style Supreme blog. We were lucky enough to meet this super cute lady at The Ross Blogger Event and we were instantly smitten with her adorable style. Just check out some of her vlogs and you will see why.
Next is Julep. Which if you haven’t heard us raving about them before is a nail polish subscription service. Use code Penny when you check out to get your first box for a penny. This months color selections are so inspiring. Beautiful shades of metallic. I loved them so much I added two extra bottles to my box. I think the color pictured might be one of my favorites so far. I am just in love with this grape metallic, so pretty! Julep polishes are made without harmful toxins, so all the more reason to love them.
Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. I mean I am obsessed, like eat them everyday for every meal type obsessed. I’m sure you will be seeing a blog post soon about my favorite flavor combos. Right now it’s rye bread with Laughing Cow Sundried Tomato flavor, provolone, fresh basil, fresh tomatoes, red onion, roasted red pepper and just a touch of mayo.

I’m loving reading Poison: A Novel of the Renaissance, by Sara Poole right now. It’s the first in the series of Poisoner Mysteries and I really love the way she combines history and fiction. I never thought I was a “mystery" reader, but lately I’ve been finding a few sub-genres in mystery that I really love.
And lastly, I’m sort of obsessed with these lingering Summer Days. I’ve been busy with work, volunteer time, kids and D.I.Y. Louisville commitments, but despite that I’ve found myself trying to squeeze in every minute of friend time, swimming, drinking cold drinks, laughing and movie nights. I feel like letting myself have some leeway and just ignore the housework every once in a while has led me to new friendships and some deeper friendships. It’s nice to know you have chores to do but decide to have your friends over instead, at least now and then. I feel like Summer is already drawing to an end, with school set to start back in just three weeks. I’m happy and sad. Happy for the new experiences the year will bring and all the fun of fall, but sad to lose the freedom that Summer brings. I guess what I am trying to say is, enjoy it while it lasts. I’m going to be trying to fit in all the moments of fun I can in between appointments, meetings and other less than fun stuff.
