Local Feature: Beechmont Bombshells

Friday I had the awesome experience of getting to check out Beechmont Bombshells Hair Style Shop, located at 309 W. Woodlawn in the same building that housed the Beechmont Barbershop for so many years.   The shop is now owned by Cindy Venture, and she is assisted by hair stylist Tiffany.  They are both super sweet and really adorable too!  I immediately fell in love with the retro decor and friendly atmosphere.  It's really great to see the historic shopping area on Woodlawn getting a breath of fresh air like the 'Bombshells'.

I took my seven year old in for a big girl hair cut and the ladies couldn't have been nicer to her.  We talked for a while and Cindy explained to me that she and her husband had D.I.Y.'ed just about everything in their cute little shop, right down to reupholstering and painting their reception area seating. They were really quick on cutting Iris' hair but did a fantastic job, two things that are always important to me in a kid's cut.

Afterwards Iris said that it was her favorite hair cut ever and she's only going there from now on! So bottom line if you want a really cool, unpretentious place that knows how to do rockin' do's, check out the Beechmont Bombshells. Prices start at $15.00 for Men's and ladies scissor cuts and $12.00 for kids.  The shop offers a full line of services including everything from cuts and styles to waxing, color and beard trims.  Plus, make sure to "like" them on Facebook where they post specials from time to time.  You can check out some more pictures of my visit below.

How cute is this display?  Love the doll and handmade hair clips for sale!

They have a great color scheme going on in the shop, very retro.

I love that they have photos from the old Beechmont Barbershop hanging up in the store, keeping the history of the area alive.

Cindy said they painted and reupholstered these cute chairs themselves!

Iris and her adorable new do!  Thanks 'Bombshells'!!
