Supplies- wire cutters, assortment of buttons, you need large and small ones for this, wire, I used colored wire that was about a 22 gauge, you can use thicker just makes sure it fits through the holes in the button. I prefer to use standard buttons versus shank, the shank buttons tend to slip around a bit.
Cut 2 pieces of wire about 20 inches long each. Fold them in half and stack together. Twist the folded ends together to make a loop.
Thread on a large button, bringing it all the way down to the loop.
next separate the wire in the middle, with two pieces on each side. Thread a small button onto each side. Push up firmly, so they rest just under the edge of the large button.
Bring the strand of wire back together and thread another big button on, overlapping the little buttons just a bit.
Keep going, alternating between the big buttons and small ones until you have about one inch left of wire.
Flip it over and twist the end a few times to secure.
If you choose to add an extra pretty button, then thread the wire through the loop we made in the beginning and wrap around a few times to secure. Clip off any extra and tuck the ends in.
String a pretty ribbon through the back and tie, making a loop to hang it with.
Now make some more, change up the color schemes on each for a totally different look.
