Make It: Faux Coral

How to make faux coral

I knew that I wanted to add some coral-type decorations t0 our Under the Sea party table, but I also knew that I didn’t have a lot of money to spend.  I went poking around the dollar store and found these branch bundles near the silk flowers.  They were perfect for the vision that I had.

For my faux coral I used:  branches from the dollar store  and coral colored paint.  It was that easy!

You can find just about any color of inexpensive craft paint you want at most craft stores.  Did you also know that you can get a sample of any paint color at Lowes for $3?  The cost is a little more than craft paint, but Lowes is nearer to my house, so it all evens out.  I made two bunches of faux coral for $5, plus I have quite a bit of this beautiful coral paint left over.  Win.

If you want the coral to be shorter and fuller, you could cut the branches in half.  I actually wanted the height to balance out the sides of my dessert table.
