Monster Halloween Party

This year the kids asked for a Halloween party and I was happy to oblige.  The idea for a monster party started swirling around in my brain a few months ago after I came across a stuffed monster I had made for the kids a few years ago.  So I did my research (ahem, pinterest) and our Monster spectacular was born.

These were the handmade party favors.  Yes, I sewed 40 stuffed monsters.  It took me about 2.5 weeks of pretty intense sewing.  It was definitely worth it because the kids all loved them and it made me happy to make them happy.

I used my chalkboard to make a cute little sign to greet the kids when they arrived.  If you don't have a chalkboard yet you need one.  They come in so handy!

The dessert buffet.  I made the table runner out of some black and white fabric from Hobby Lobby.

The monster cake.  I found this idea via pinterest.  The cake is pumpkin spice with buttercream icing.  The eyes are vanilla cake pops.  You can also see some of the candy treats in this photo.

The candy.  Monster suckers from Oriental Trading, colored Twizzlers and black rock candy.  The green boxes are from the Target Dollar Spot.

Love this photo, one of our monsters getting a drink.

My kind of sad attempt at caramel apples.  Some of them had the caramel just falling right off.

The food clockwise: Bones and blood (breadsticks and marinara), Mini turkey sandwiches, popcorn (bags from Layer Cake Shop), and Halloween chips from World Market.  We also had chili, and lots of appetizers.

Me getting my silly on.  I mean I seriously love how cute these chips are!!
A big thanks to Julee for taking all the photos and arriving early to help me out.  Also thanks to all of our great guests it was a crazy fun day!
